3 Safety
The device has been manufactured in accordance with the current state of the art and
recognized safety regulations. Nevertheless, its use may pose a risk to the life and limb of
the user or third parties, or result in damage to the device, the environment or property.


Only use the device
- in undamaged condition
- in accordance with its intended use and with due regard for safety and dangers
- in compliance with these operating instructions
3.1 Intended use
The basic function of the Ex nR Control Panel is defined by the built-in components in the
Ex nR housing part and by their intended use, e.g. WLAN access point, IoT gateway,
mobile radio modem, automation component, etc. Refer to the operating instructions of the
installed component. The Ex nR Control Panel provides explosion protection for installation
in Zone 2.
The Ex nR Control Panel has a terminal compartment in the Ex ec type of protection, which
allows the connection of the power supply or wired signal transmission.
