6.1.2 Environmental Installation Conditions
▶
A protective roof or wall should be provided if the explosion-protected device is exposed
to weathering.
▶
Before use in areas with continuously high humidity and high temperature variations,
such as the conditions in tropical and sub-tropical climate zones, contact R. STAHL.
▶
Do not create any cold bridges (condensation hazard). If necessary, install the enclosure
with a clearance to minimise condensation in the enclosure.
6.2
Installation
▶
Install the device carefully and only in accordance with the safety information
(see "Safety" chapter).
▶
The installation steps stated below must be carried out very precisely.
Operation under difficult conditions, e.g. on ships or in strong sunlight, requires additional
measures to be taken for correct installation, depending on the operating location.
Further information and instructions on this can be obtained on request from your
designated sales contact.
DANGER! Explosion due to intense heating inside the enclosure!
Non-compliance results in fatal or severe injuries.

Select suitable conductors that do not exceed the permissible heating temperature
within the enclosure.
▶
Use suitable plug connectors (e.g. RJ45).
▶
Ensure that the specified cross sections are used.
▶
Attach the core end sleeves or plug connectors properly.
DANGER! Risk of explosion if the entire device is painted after receipt from the
manufacturer.
Non-compliance results in fatal or severe injuries.
▶
Do not paint the device.
▶
Consult R. STAHL before mending flaws such as scratches.
