8903/PB Profibus Communications Interface

Step 2: Configuring the PLC/SCADA Supervisor

Note:

This example uses the Siemens Simatic 7 PROFIBUS configuration tool, Siemens STEP 7
Simatic manager.

1.

Create a project selecting the PLC hardware to be used. Click on Hardware…

2. Import the GSD file for the 890 so that it appears in the Hardware Catalog. Click on

Options…Install New GSD…

, then use the file explorer to select the file

3. Open the project for the Profibus Master. Find the Device Description for the

SSD Drives

890

which can be found under

PROFIBUS DP:Additional Field Devices:
