BATTERY INFORMATION

The Spy Video Car uses 12 AA (6 for the car and 6 for the remote) 

batteries, not included.

ATTENTION ADULTS: TO REPLACE BATTERIES

1.  Use a small Phillips head screwdriver to loosen the screws on the battery 

compartment of both the car and the remote. The screws will not fall out.

2.  Open battery cover. Remove exhausted batteries.

3.  Place new batteries in compartment as shown in Fig. 6 and 7.

4.  Replace the battery cover and tighten screw.

 Changes or modifications to this equipment not expressly approved by the party 

responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

PROBABLE CAUSE

The batteries are dead or have a low 

charge.

The batteries may not be installed correctly.

Power switches are OFF.

The headset may not be properly 

connected to the remote control.

You are playing near areas with radio 

interference, other RC vehicles, high-

tension wires, large buildings, CB radios.

The batteries have a low charge.

The remote control antenna is not 

sending clear signals.

The Spy Video Car may be located in 

direct sunlight.

You are playing near an area with radio 

interference or a cordless phone.

SOLUTION

Replace the batteries and always remember to turn off the power switches 

on the car and remote control to save battery life when not in use.

Make sure the battery direction (polarity, +/-) is correct.

Make sure the power on the remote control and the car is ON.

Try holding the remote control higher above the ground.  If that does not 

work, move closer to the car.

Make sure the headset cord connects into the video feed plug in the 

remote control.

Make sure the power on the remote control and the car is ON.

Adjust the front wheel alignment screw located on the car beneath the 

video camera. If the car turns to the right, turn the screw to the left and 

vice versa.

Move to a new location.

Try holding the remote control higher above the ground. If that does not 

work, move closer to the car.

Point the remote control antenna up in the air, not at the car.  Do not 

touch the antenna.

Move inside or to a shadier area outside.

Move to a new location. 

SYMPTOM

The Spy Video Car will not 

operate.

The Spy Video Car slows 

down or the video screen 

starts to fade.

There is no image on the 

video screen.

The Spy Video Car is not 

traveling in a straight line.

The Spy Video Car is moving 

about erratically, not under 

the control of the remote.

When I look in the video 

screen, everything looks white.

The video screen is flickering 

a lot.

BATTERY SAFETY INFORMATION

•  Only adults should install and replace batteries.

•  Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries.

• Remove dead or exhausted batteries.

• Insert batteries correctly. Match positive and negative signs.

•  The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited. 

•  Do not use rechargeable batteries.

•  Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable 

(nickel-cadmium) batteries.

•  Do not mix old and new batteries.

•  Only the batteries of the same or equivalent type recommended to be used.

•  Do not dispose batteries in a fire; they may explode.

•  Dispose of batteries safely.

Wild Planet Toys manufactures all of its products to the highest quality standards. We 

encourage you to take good care of your Spy Video Car and follow all the instructions carefully.  

As a leader in quality products for kids, Wild Planet Toys guarantees the Spy Video Car to 

the original consumer purchaser against any manufacturing defects under normal use for 

90 days from the date of purchase. In the event of a defect covered under this warranty, 

please call the toll-free number listed on the instruction sheet. Many problems can be 

solved by talking to our customer service department.

If necessary, you will be instructed to return your Spy Video Car postage pre-paid and 

insured to the Wild Planet Toys Service Center. Wild Planet Toys will repair or replace 

your Spy Video Car if it meets the terms of this warranty. You will need to include your 

name, address, a sales slip with the proof of purchase date and a brief explanation of 

the product defect. Replacement and return shipment will be free of charge. This 

warranty is exclusive and is made in lieu of any express or implied warranty.  
This warranty does not cover broken parts or damage resulting from unauthorized 

modification, accident, abuse or misuse. If the product is returned without a dated 

sales receipt or if the product is returned outside of the warranty period, the product 

will not be covered under this warranty.
