FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q #1: What is the range of my SportDog™ ProHunter 2400?

environmental factors such as terrain may affect its range.
Q #2: What type of batteries are required?

battery packs are available through Radio Systems Corporation (refer to question #4).
Q #3: How much training time can I expect from a fully charged battery pack?
A: You can expect to receive approximately 40 hours of continuous training time or five
(5) eight-hour training sessions from each charge. These estimates may vary depending
upon type and frequency of use.
Q #4: How often will I need to purchase a new battery pack, and how do I purchase one?
A: Each battery pack should last three to five years. Replacement battery packs can
be ordered by calling 1-800-732-0144 or by visiting www.sportdog.net. Directions on
replacing the old battery pack will be included with the new one.
Q #5: How should I store the transmitter and receiver when I am not using them?
A: Completely charge both the transmitter and receiver before storing. Turn the
receiver off when not in use. Store both at room temperature. To preserve the life of
the battery packs, charge each unit every 4-6 weeks when not in use.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Please refer to the guide below if you are experiencing problems with your SportDog™
SportHunter 1200 Remote Trainer. Please call the Customer Care Center at
1-800-732-0144 with additional questions.
Problem: My dog is not responding when I press a stimulation button.
1. Check to see if the red LED light is flashing once every four seconds on the receiver.
If so, recharge the receiver battery.
2. Increase the level of intensity. As you turn the intensity knob on the transmitter,
watch your dog to determine his “recognition” level of the signal. As he feels the
signal, he will scratch his neck or ears.
3. Make sure that the collar’s contact points are placed snugly against your dog’s skin.
4. Check to see if the red LED is flashing instead of being solid when any button on the
transmitter is pressed. If so, recharge the transmitter battery.
