3.3 Muting Alerts
Local Alert Mute
To mute (silence) a pending alert at the NAVIKNOT 600 SD CDU:
From the main speed display page,
press
ACK MUTE.

The audible alert indication is
muted (silenced).
If the system is connected to a cen-
tral alert facility and configured
accordingly, the audible alert indi-
cation at the central alert facility will
also be muted (silenced).

„ACTIVE SILENCED“, as new
alert state with the respective alert
list page is then immediately indi-
cated for the just muted (silenced)
alert.
The alert remains in the pending
alert state „ACTIVE SILENCED“
until it either:
– is acknowledged (alert state
ACTIVE ACKNOWLEDGED),
– gets rectified
(alert state RECTIFIED
UNACKNOWLEDGED), or
– escalates to an alert with
the alert state ACTIVE
UNACKNOWLEDGED again.


Note In case a locally muted (silenced) alert is still active and not acknowl-
edged after a time period set in the MUTE TIMOUT settings of the Service
Setup 600, the audible alert will again be raised.
