The following information is intended to 
provide an understanding of radiation 
and how the Model 840024 Radiation 
Meter detects certain types of radiation. 
Radiation is energy that travels in the 
form of particles or waves.  
Radioactivity is the property of some 
atoms that cause spontaneous 
emission of energy and emits ionizing 
radiation as they decay.
