If desired, add clients that are allowed to access the system using SNMP.

sign to add a client.

Enter the host IP address in the
Host
field.

If desired, select the
Notifications
check box to indicate that the SNMP client should
receive outgoing notifications.

Enter the port number to be used for SNMP communication in the
Port
field.

Enter a community string value in the
Community String
field. This community string
is set for each client. The clients monitor SNMP notifications for any that use the
string specified here.

Download the MIB File
If you want to communicate with the system using SNMP, you must first download the
BlackPearl Converged Storage System MIB (Management Information Base) file, and load the
file into a compatible network node manager program, such as HP
®
OpenView
®
.

Configuration > Services
to display the Services screen (see
).

Double-click the SNMP service row, or select the SNMP service row and select
Action >
Show Details
. The SNMP details screen displays.
