Using Degaussed AIT-3 Tapes in Gator Libraries
1.
Manually load the Degauss firmware tape—this will take a couple of minutes. Once
the firmware upload is finished, the tape will eject itself. Remove the firmware tape
from the library.
Note:
The inquiry string will not show the new firmware revision until
drive is power cycled or a configuration save is issued.
2.
Leave the drive empty and go to the front panel of the Gator Library. Navigate to
the Configuration screen, then to the Drives screen. Choose the desired drive and
select
Edit
. In this screen, there will be a small icon representing the DIP switches
for both drives (Figure 1).
Note:
Drives are configured as drive pairs. This setting will affect the DIP
switch settings for both drives.
3.
Select the Switches icon to enter the DIP switch screen.
4.
Once in this screen, toggle the first switch on. This action should set the numerical
representation to
1
.
5.
Save all changes and let the drives finish configuration.
6.
At this point, you should be able to read and write to Degauss Media.
