Cause 5:

  

Airlock in Pump Assembly.

 

 

Remedy:

   The pump block assembly and possibly the piston side of 

the press must be bled of air trapped within the oil. The 
procedure can be split into two distinct operations: 
Bleeding air from the pump block assembly and bleeding 
air from the piston assembly. 

 

Bleeding Air from the Pump Block Assembly 

 

To gain access to the oil bleed screw (

), the pump plate (

) must 

first be removed. (In Fig 9. the transport screw (

37

) is shown but 

normally this has been removed for use.)

Loosen and remove the four securing screws and lift the pump plate 
and the pump block upper gasket (

) clear. Be careful not to tear the 

gasket material. Loosen, but do not remove the oil bleed screw (

) by 

turning anticlockwise. (See Fig 10.)
