Operation
This power tool is supplied from single-phase
alternating current mains only. It is double insu-
lated according to EN 60745-1, IEC 60745 and
can be connected to grounded or not grounded
sockets. This power tool is radio suppressed in
compliance with EMC Directive.
The rotary hammer is designed for hammer
drilling in concrete, stone, masonry and various
brittle materials and for drilling in steel, wood,
plastics, etc.
PRIOR TO INITIAL OPERATION
▪ Make sure the power supply voltage corre
-
sponds to the value indicated on the name
plate with technical data of the tool.
▪ Always check the position of ON/OFF switch.
The power tool must be connected to the
power supply socket only when this switch is
in OFF position. If the plug is connected to
a receptacle while the power switch is in the
ON position, the power tool will start operat-
ing immediately, which could cause a serious
accident.
▪ Make sure that the cord and the plug are in
order. If the replacement of the supply cord is
necessary, this has to be done by the manu-
facturer or his agent in order to avoid a safety
hazard.
WARNING:
Always switch off and un-
plug the power tool prior to any adjustment,
servicing or maintenance.
▪ In case the work area is remote from the pow
-
er source, use as short as practicable exten-
sion cord with proper cross-section.
▪ Check that the auxiliary handle is properly
mounted and reliably tightened.
SWITCHING ON - SWITCHING Off
Brief activation
▪ Switching on: press ON/OFF switch 9 (Fig.1).
▪ Switching off: release ON/OFF switch 9.
Continuous use
▪ Switching on: press ON/OFF switch 9 and in
pressed position lock it by button 10 (Fig.1).
▪ Switching off: press ON/OFF switch 9 once
and release it immediately.
WARNING:
At low temperature ap-
proximately or below 0
о
C (32
о
F) or in case
the power tool has not been used for a long
period (after storage in warehouse/ shop /
house), there might be no impact action upon
starting because of the thickened lubricant.
In this case, let the power tool run for 1.5
minutes at no load in order to warm up, thus
achieving improved lubrication and prolonged
life of the power tool.
STEPLESS ELECTRONIC RPM CON-
TROL
Light pressure on ON/OFF trigger switch 9 re
-
sults in low rotation speed, further pressing the
switch results in smooth increase of the rpm to
maximum upon reaching the extreme position.
Models BPR 240CЕ, BPR 260CЕ and
BPR 280CE feature constant electronics for
maintaining the rotation speed / impact frequen-
cy thus preserving them constant, regardless of
loading.
REVERSING
Prior to operation always check the direction of
rotation.
The extreme position of lever 7 to the left is
equivalent to clockwise rotation, the extreme
position to the right - to anti-clockwise rotation.
WARNING:
Reversing can be per-
Reversing can be per-
formed only when the spindle is not rotating!
Otherwise this might cause damage to the
motor.
OPERATION MODE SELECTION
Switching between the operation modes shall be
performed only when the machine is turned off.
Press the release button 6 and turn the mode
selector switch 11 to the necessary position.
