SoundImpress HY502 Stereo Amplifier
500WPC | Ncore® | Powered by Hypex
The HY502-2CH is a compact, high performance,
two channel and no-nonsense class-D power
amplifier. It incorporates the proven and renown
Hypex Ncore® technology for nothing less than
impressive performance!
The performance stands out with authoritative
and tightly controlled low registers, high
dynamics and crystal clear mid- and high-
frequencies. The super-low noise level generates
a completely black background to reveal the
tiniest of details in every recording.
All SoundImpress amplifiers are hand assembled
in the Netherlands. The custom milled aluminum
enclosure houses the Hypex NC502MP amplifier
module, the best thermal material for audio
devices. The in- and output connections are
provided through high-quality binding posts
from CMC and XLR-chassis from Neutrik and
wiring from Mogami and Belden. It can operate
from both 110 and 230 VAC mains voltage
due to it's universal mains input compatibility
featuring an automatic input voltage doubler.

Small and powerfull
This amplifier can deliver all its power from as
low as 2 ohm impedance combined with low
idle loss, very low distortion and noise levels.
Chief distinguishing features are flat frequency
response irrespective of load impedance, nearly
frequency independent distortion behaviour
and very low radiated and conducted EMI.
Tthis results in performances such as the
max output power of 500 Wrms at 4 ohm per
channel, a Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of 124
dB and astonishing distorting level of 0.0018%.
An amplifier is only as good as the power supply
it contains. In this SoundImpress amplifier,
the power supply and amplifier are located on
one board. The switched-mode power supply
(SMPS) providing the power for the amplifier is a
compact, high power, highly efficient, regulated
half bridge converter with synchronous
rectification on the main output rails. These
properties make this technology ideal for
powering Class D audio amplifiers.
