Recovering the system without changing partitions
1
Press
C
to keep your current partitions. This is the recommended option if you do
not need to modify the partition sizes and if you want to restore your C: drive
while keeping the data on your D: drive untouched.
2
Press
G
to proceed with the system recovery.
3
Select the file system you want to use: FAT32 or NTFS.
4
Follow the instructions on the screen.
5
When the recovery process is finished, remove the Recovery CD-ROM from the
drive and press any key to restart your notebook computer.
By default, your notebook
computer’s file management
system is FAT32. Only the
Advanced Recovery
allows
you to format your files using
either FAT32 or NTFS. You can
change your FAT32 file system
to NTFS at any time. However,
make sure you fully understand
the concept of file management
system under Windows
®
2000
before switching from FAT32 to
another file management
system. For more information,
carefully read the Windows
®
2000 documentation and/or ask
your system or network
administrator.
You can only convert from
FAT32 to NTFS, but not from
NTFS to FAT32.
