Setting Media
To read and write image data, the following media can
be set in the slots and drives on the front of the unit:
• “Memory Stick,” “Memory Stick Duo,” “Memory
Stick PRO,” and “Memory Stick PRO Duo”
• CompactFlash cards
• SmartMedia and xD-Picture cards
• SD Memory Cards, miniSD, MultiMediaCards, and
RS-MMCs
• USB memory devices
• CDs
Notes
• Make sure to back up all image data stored on your
media before using it with this unit.
• To avoid losing image data or damaging the unit, never
attempt to insert any media into a CompactFlash
adapter set in the CompactFlash slot.

Memory Stick PRO STD/DUO slot
Holds a “Memory Stick” with stored image data.
B
CompactFlash slot
Holds a CompactFlash card with stored image data.
Note
To avoid losing image data or damaging the unit,
never attempt to insert any media into a
CompactFlash adapter set in the CompactFlash
slot.

SM/xD (SmartMedia / xD-Picture card) slot
Holds a SmartMedia or xD-Picture card with stored
image data.
D
SD/MMC (SD Memory Card /
MultiMediaCard) slot
Holds an SD Memory Card, miniSD,
MultiMediaCard, or RS-MMC with stored image
data.
E
USB Memory port
Connects to a USB memory device with stored
image data.
F
Combo drive
Performs read and write operations on a disc.
G
Eject button
Opens and closes the drive tray of the combo drive.
