Using the CD-ROM
Manual
The supplied CD-ROM includes manuals for this printer
(in Japanese, English, French, German, Italian, and
Spanish). The copies of these manuals are created in PDF
(Portable Document Format).
Preparations
The following program must be installed on your computer
in order to use the operation manuals contained on the CD-
ROM disc.
• Adobe Reader Version 6.0 or higher
If Adobe Reader is not installed, you can download it from
the following URL:
http://www.adobe.com/
Adobe and Adobe Reader are trademarks of Adobe
Systems Incorporated in the United States and/or other
countries.
Reading the CD-ROM Manual
To read the manual on the CD-ROM, proceed as follows.

Insert the CD-ROM disc in your CD-ROM drive.
The manuals are saved in the Instructions For Use
folder.

Select and click the manual that you want to read.
The files may not be displayed properly, depending on the
version of Adobe Reader. In such a case, install the latest
version you can download from the URL mentioned in
above.
If you lose the CD-ROM disc or you cannot read it for
some reason, you can purchase a new CD-ROM disc.
Contact your nearest Sony service representative.
Connections
After connecting a USB cable (supplied) to the printer and
the computer, connect the power cord. For details about
the printer connection, refer to the manuals for the
computer or other peripheral devices.
Installing the Printer Driver
Before connecting the printer to the computer, install the
printer driver provided with the printer.
For details on installation, refer to the installation guide
and the Readme file on the supplied CD-ROM.
USB Port Connection
• Follow the connection procedures described in the
computer manual.
• Make sure that the interface cable is connected securely
at both ends.
• The printer drive software provided with the printer is
not suitable for using the printer connected to a network.
• Operation of the printer is not guaranteed for connection
to a USB hub.
