Connection
Preparation
Connect the printer to your computer using the computer’s interface cable. Then
connect the printer to a wall outlet. The interface cable differs according to your
computer. Before connecting, refer to the manuals of the computer and other
peripherals.
Notes
• Before connecting, turn off the power of the computer and the printer.
• Disconnect the power cord from the printer.
• Connect the power cord last.
• Use an interface cable matching the printer’s connecter (Centronics).
• To use the printer in ECP mode, use an interface cable in conformity to IEEE
STD 1284 such as Hewlett Packard C2951A.

Make sure that the computer and the printer are turned off.

Insert the interface cable to the printer’s connector.

Fasten the clamps
at both sides of the connector to secure the cable.

Connect the cable to the computer.

Connect the AC power cord to the AC IN connector of the printer and then to
a wall outlet.
