Replacing the Paper Roll and Ink Ribbon

Pull the ribbon on the white spool, attach one edge of
a strip of adhesive tape along the entire length of the
ribbon’s end, and then attach the other edge of the tape
to the ribbon on the black spool.

Remove any slack from the ribbon.
Be sure to wind the taped portion completely onto the
black spool so that the tape is not exposed.

Hold the center of the ink ribbon holder, and load it
into the unit.

Close the side door.
Depending on the position of the ribbon break, a single
printout’s worth of ribbon may be lost.
Removing Scraps from the Paper
Holder
If the ALARM indicator lights, the accumulation of scraps
that are produced in the paper holder during printing may
be excessive. In such cases, remove the scraps as follows.
Always remove scraps from the paper holder whenever
you replace the paper roll, even if the ALARM indicator
does not light. Excessive accumulation of scraps may
result in printer damage due to scraps getting jammed
inside the printer.

Remove the paper tray.

Open the front door.
