Information
This chapter provides you with
additional information that will help
you understand and maintain your
system.
Precautions
On safety
• Should any solid object or liquid fall into the cabinet, unplug
the amplifier and have it checked by a qualified service
technician before operating it any further.
• The unit is not disconnected from the AC power source as long
as it is connected to the wall outlet, even if the unit itself has
been turned off.
On power sources
• Before operating the unit, check that the operating voltage of
the unit is identical to that of your local power supply. The
operating voltage is indicated on the nameplate on the back of
the unit.
• If you are not going to use the unit for a long time, be sure to
disconnect it from the AC power source. To disconnect the
lead, grasp the plug itself; never pull the cord.
On placement
• Place the unit in a location with adequate ventilation to
prevent heat build-up in the amplifier.
• Do not place the unit on a soft surface such as a rug that might
block the ventilation holes on the bottom.
• Do not place the unit in a location near heat sources, or in a
place subject to direct sunlight, excessive dust, or mechanical
shock.
On adjusting the volume
• Do not turn up the maximum volume level by adjusting the
ATTENUATOR L/R on the front panel too high while
listening to very low input levels. If you do, the speakers may
be damaged when high volume source is played.
On cleaning
• Clean the cabinet, panel, and controls with a soft cloth slightly
moistened with a mild detergent solution. Do not use any type
of abrasive pad, scouring powder, or solvent, such as alcohol
or benzine.
If you have any questions or problems concerning the
amplifier, please consult your nearest Sony dealer.
