Chapter 8 SCSI Commands
A Save Pages (SP) bit of 0 directs the autoloader not to save the transferred data
to non-volatile memory during the DATA OUT phase. An SP bit of 1 directs the
autoloader to save all Mode Pages (including the Mode Pages sent) to non-
volatile memory during the DATA OUT phase when performing the specified
MODE SELECT processing.
The Parameter List Length field specifies the number of bytes in the Mode
Parameter List transferred from the host during the DATA OUT phase. A
Parameter List Length of 0 indicates that there is no data to be transferred, but
this is not treated as an error.
If the Parameter List Length is such that it causes the Mode Parameter Header
and Mode Page to be separated, the command is terminated with a CHECK
CONDITION. The sense key is ILLEGAL REQUEST and ASC/ASCQ is
PARAMETER LIST LENGTH ERROR.
8.5.1. Parameter List Header
When one or more Parameter Pages are transferred with the MODE SELECT
command, it is necessary to transfer a Parameter List Header. However, if no
Parameter Pages are transferred, the Parameter List Header transfer is not
necessary.
The Parameter List Header has the following forms, depending on the value of
the PF bit.
Table 8.5.1.1 : Parameter List Header (PF=1)
All fields of the Parameter List Header are reserved and all these fields are 0.
