You can do the following in clock
screen B:

View the time
To change the speaker volume
Press the up button. The volume changes in the
following order:

(Repeats)
The device is set to high by default.

There are times when certain downloaded games
will change the settings of clock screen A/B. For

Pull the insulating battery pull tab out from
the battery compartment

Pull out the pull tab, as shown in the picture

Press the reset button
Preparing your device
The opening screen will switch on.
After about 10 seconds, time screen A will begin
flashing.
Press the select button to proceed.

with a sharp, pointed stick, or the lead of a pencil

The battery that comes pre-installed in the
device may be low on charge

How to insert the device into
your PlayStation
Open the operational panel, hold the device by its
sides, make sure the LCD screen is facing up, and
insert the device into your PlayStation’s memory
card slot.

It’s normal for the device’s audio to be distorted
while it’s inside your PlayStation

Please take care to ensure that the strap doesn’t
get caught inside the disc cover of your

You can do the following in clock screen A
:

View the time and change the time settings
•
View the alarm and change the alarm settings
•
View the date and change the date settings
*The year will display for several seconds upon changing
to clock screen A
To set the alarm
You can choose the time the alarm will sound

Hold the down button for
several moments.
The “alarm ON/OFF” symbol
will flash.

Use the up and down buttons to change the setting.

Press the right button.
00 will flash on the screen. Use the up and
down buttons to change the time (hour).Press
the left button to take you to the previous step.
Set the time (minute) in the same way.

Press the select button

You have finished setting the alarm.

Caution
•
Upon setting the alarm, the alarm will sound again
at the same time unless you disable the alarm
•
The alarm volume will sound at max volume
irrespective of the devices volume setting
•
The alarm will not sound when the device’s battery
is low
To change the clock time
In clock screen A, hold down the up button for
several moments. The year/month date will flash on
the screen, and the device will enter the time setting
mode.

"preparing your device".

You can view the number of used blocks in
clock screen B. Also, you are able to view
your saved game information via the icons.
View saved game data via the icons
by
pressing and holding the down button
in clock screen B for several moments.
You can view your saved game data the
same way you view your saved games.
When there are multiple icons, press the up
and down arrows to navigate between them.
Press the select button to return to clock
screen B.

download games
While software is downloading, a
"download" message will display on
the device's LCD screen and the LED
light will turn on.

To open a game

From the clock screens, use the left
and right buttons to navigate through the
game titles screens.
Pressing the left and right buttons brings up
the next game title.

Press the select button.
The game will launch. For information about
how to play a game, please read the game’s
software manual.
To close a game
Press and hold the select button for several
moments.
You will be taken to the menu screen, where you
are able to close the game. For more information
please read the game’s software manual.
To view a game's information
Press the down button on the game’s title
screen.
You will be able to view information such as the
game’s title and more.
Use the up and down buttons to navigate to the
screen that you want.

Caution
•
The device has 15 blocks of memory, and can
store downloaded games as well as data from
the PlayStation. You cannot download any
game that would require more free blocks of
memory than is available
•
You will not lose your downloaded games
should your battery run out. However it is
possible you may not be able to save your data
if a game is running. For more information
about loading and saving games, please read
the game’s software instructions. To delete a
game or its data is the same way you would
like anything on a memory card. For more
information please read the “How to use a
memory card” section of the PlayStation’s
manual
•
While software is downloading, please do not
remove the device from the PlayStation
In case of removing the operational
panel by accident
Attach the panel
back to the device
as shown in the
picture. Be careful not
to exert too much force.
How to lock the buttons
You can disable the functionality of the buttons, so
that they won’t be pressed in error while you move
about with your device.
While pressing the select button, press the up,
down, left, and right buttons (in any order)
once to lock the buttons.
The
button
lock symbol will display
on the screen. To disable the
button lock, hold down the
select button and press the
up, down, left, and right
buttons (in any order) once.
You are also able to use the device as a
memory card for the PlayStation. Fore more
information, please read the user manual for
the PlayStation.

If you insert the device into the
PlayStation’s memory card slot while it's
running, it’s possible for it to not function
properly as a memory card. For more

The saved data on the device won’t be lost
if the battery dies

The PocketStation’s
method of communication
The PocketStation communicates using
light-wave communication. For more
information about light-wave
communication (IrDA protocol), please read
the software instruction manual.
To save power, the device’s screen will sometimes
turn off, and the speakers will become mute. Press
the select button to wake the device up. For more
information read the software instruction manual.
When the device and your
PlayStation is sharing data
“Busy” will be displayed on your device's LCD
screen, and the LED light will turn on.
While data transfer is taking place, do not remove
your device from your PlayStation.
