Additional Information
Troubleshooting
Should you encounter a problem
with your system, find your problem
in the troubleshooting checklist
below and take the corrective
action.
If the problem persists, consult your
nearest Sony dealer.
Note that if the service personnel
changes some parts during repair,
these parts may be retained.
If “PROTECT XX” (X is a
number) appears on the
display
Immediately unplug the AC
power cord, and check the
following items.

Is anything blocking the
ventilation openings of the
subwoofer?
•
•
Is the USB port short-circuited?
After you have checked these
above items and found no
problems, reconnect the AC
power cord, and turn on the
system. If the issue persists,
contact your nearest Sony dealer.
General
The power does not turn on.
•
•
Check that the AC power cord is
connected securely.
The system cannot be turned off
even though
is pressed.
•
•
You may have set the display
mode to the demonstration mode
unintentionally. Press DISPLAY
repeatedly to select Power Saving
Mode (page 31).
The system has entered standby
mode.
•
•
This is not a malfunction. The
system enters standby mode
automatically in about 15 minutes
when there is no operation or
audio signal output (page 67).
The clock or timer setting is
canceled.
•
•
The AC power cord is disconnected
or a power failure occurred. Set
the clock (page 31) and timer
(page 64) again.
There is no sound.
•
•
Adjust the volume.
•
•
Check the speaker connections
(page 24).
•
•
Check the connection of the
optional equipment, if any
(page 24).
•
•
Turn on the connected equipment.
•
•
There is no audio output available
during Recording Timer.
•
•
Unplug the AC power cord, then
reconnect the AC power cord and
turn on the system.
