Equipped with the industry standard RS-422A Sony 9-pin remote
control interface, J series Compact Players can be used not only for
viewing and logging but also for feeding source material to servers
and nonlinear editors.

* J series Compact Players can not be used as editing players in conventional linear editing

applications.

You have a choice of output board with a J series Compact Player.
Two types are available, the BKJ-1 Analog Component Output Board
and the BKJ-2 SDI Output Board. Both boards also have analog
composite video, S-video and analog audio outputs. This choice of
output board gives you either an analog component output or an SDI
output, plus the common outputs.

* J series Compact Players are only available with either a BKJ-1 Analog Component Output

Board or a BKJ-2 SDI Output Board installed. You cannot install both boards simultaneously.

You can create an affordable tape logging system for all playback-compatible formats in off-line operations. This is
achieved by connecting a J series player via an RS-232C cable to a PC that has a video capture board installed and is
running the JZ-1 Videocassette Logging Software.
One of the most useful aspects of this system is that you can log data easily and quickly by referring to the
graphical user interface provided by the PC, as the JZ-1 software enables the source material from the player to be
viewed on its GUI.

Using the control buttons in the GUI, you can
control the J series to search for different scenes and
then capture a representative still image of each
scene. Each captured image is stored as a small
stamp picture. IN/OUT point time codes can also
be marked for each scene, and reel numbers and
comments can be added and stored together in the
Master board. A Story Board view also makes it
possible to assemble the sequence of logged scenes
through a simple drag-and-drop operation.
