Starting Recording on
the Fixed Camera Using
Alarm e-Mail
When you use the camera connected to the Sony SNT-
V501/V504 Video Network Station or the SNC-Z20N/P
Network Camera as a fixed camera, you can start
recording of the fixed camera image using alarm e-Mail
sent from the fixed camera as a trigger.
Setting the Continuous shooting
duration of the Fixed Camera (in
this application)
Set the recording duration of the fixed camera in the
details dialog in the
Camera information dialog. The
default duration is set to 30 seconds.

Select Camera information under Tool on the
menu bar of the main window.
The
Camera information dialog opens.

Click the Details button for fixed camera 1 or fixed
camera 2 to display the details dialog.

Select the Memory setting tab.

Set the recording duration of the fixed camera
(seconds) in
Continuous shooting duration .

Click the Apply button to save the settings in the
details dialog.
Setting the SMTP Feature on the
Fixed Camera
Access the SNT-V501/V504 or SNC-Z20N/P via a Web
browser, and perform settings using the SMTP setting
page of the Administrator menu.
For details on how to access the camera and how to use
the menu, refer to the user's guide of SNT-V501/V504 or
SNC-Z20N/P.

Open the SMTP setting page of SNT-V501/V504 or
SNC-Z20N/P.

Select Use SMTP function on the SMTP usage
setting page, and click OK .

Set the parameters on the SMTP setting page as
follows:

Click OK at the bottom of the SMTP setting page
to save the settings.
To set the activity detection on the fixed
camera
When Alarm is set to Activity detection on the SMTP
setting page of SNT-V501/V504 or SNC-Z20N/P, set as
follows:

Open the Activity detection setting page of SNT-
V501/V504 or SNC-Z20N/P.

Drag the mouse on the still image displayed on the
Activity detection setting page to draw the activity
detection working area.
For details of the setting, see the user’s guide of
SNT-V501/V504 or SNC-Z20N/P.

Select the sensitivity of the activity detection on
Sensitivity .

Click OK to save the settings.

Close the Activity detection setting page.
