Basic Operations
Enjoying the Sound of the
System
You can enjoy the sound of connected
components through the speakers of the system.
Be sure to connect components correctly.
Selecting the source
See also the operating instructions supplied with
the connected components.
Make sure that the components are connected
correctly (page 11).

to turn on the system.

Press DVD, TUNER/BAND, or VIDEO (input
select buttons) on the remote.
Select the desired source. Selected source is
appears in the centre unit display.
DVD: Component that is connected to the
DVD jack (DVD recorder/player, “Play
Station 2,” etc.)
VIDEO: Component that is connected to the
VIDEO jacks (VCR, TV, etc.)
TUNER/BAND: Radio (FM/AM) (page 29)

Press SOUND FIELD –/+ to select the sound
field you want (page 18).

Hints
• You can select the source by using FUNCTION on the
centre unit.
Press FUNCTION repeatedly to select the desired
source.
The centre unit display changes as follows:
• You can operate other connected components with the
supplied remote. For details, see “Operating Other
Components With the Supplied Remote” on page 31.
Note
When you listen to the VCR or TV sound or stereo sound
of a 2 channel source from the six speakers, select the
“PRO LOGIC” or “PLII MUSIC/MOVIE” sound field
(page 18).
Adjusting the volume
Press VOLUME –/+ on the centre unit or

on the remote to adjust the volume.
To mute the sound
Press MUTING.
To cancel muting, press it again or
