General
The system has entered standby
mode.
ˎ
This is not a malfunction. The
system enters standby mode
automatically in about 15 minutes
when there is no operation and no
audio signal is detected.
See “Setting the automatic
standby function”(page 39).
The clock or timer setting is
canceled.
ˎ
The power cord is disconnected
or a power failure occurred. Set
the clock (page 20) and timer
(page 37) again.
There is no sound.
ˎ
Adjust the volume.
ˎ
Check the connection of the
optional equipment, if any
(page 16).
ˎ
Turn on the connected equipment.
No TV sound is heard from the
system.
ˎ
This system supports 2-channel
Linear PCM formats only. Check
the audio output setting on the
TV and change it to PCM output
mode if automatic mode is
selected.
ˎ
Check that the speaker output
setting on the TV is set to use
external speakers.
There is severe hum or noise.
ˎ
Move the system away from
sources of noise.
ˎ
Connect the system to a different
wall outlet.
ˎ
Install a noise filter (commercially
available) to the power cord.
ˎ
Turn off surrounding electrical
equipment.
The timer does not function.
ˎ
Check the timer setting and set
the correct time (page 37).
ˎ
Cancel the Sleep Timer function
(page 37).
The remote control does not
function.
ˎ
Remove the obstacles between
the remote control and the
subwoofer.
ˎ
Move the remote control closer to
the subwoofer.
ˎ
Point the remote control at the
subwoofer’s remote control
sensor.
ˎ
Replace the batteries (R03/size
AAA).
ˎ
Move the subwoofer away from
the fluorescent light.
There is acoustic feedback.
ˎ
Reduce the volume.
“CHILD” and “LOCK” appear when
you press any button on the
subwoofer.
ˎ
Set the Child Lock function to off
(page 39).
A clicking sound is heard when
turning the power on.
ˎ
This is the operating sound and it
occurs when the power is turned
on or off, for example. This is not a
malfunction.
