Checking the media
information
You can check the remaining recordable
time for each recording mode of the
recording media selected on [MOVIE
MEDIA SET] (p. 69), and the approximate
free and used media space of the recording
media.
Notes
During Easy Handycam operation, you cannot
check the media information. Cancel Easy
Handycam operation.

You can check the recordable free space, etc. by

at the lower right on the screen.

The calculation for recording media space is 1
MB = 1,048,576 bytes. The fractions less than
MB are discarded when the recording media
space is displayed. The displayed size of the
whole hard disk space will be slightly smaller
than the size shown below despite displaying
both free and used hard disk space.
HDR-XR100E/XR105E/XR106E: 80 000 MB
HDR-XR200E/XR200VE: 120 000 MB
Since there is a management file area, the used
space is not displayed as 0 MB even if you
perform [MEDIA FORMAT] (p. 71).
Tips
Only the information of the medium selected
on [MOVIE MEDIA SET] (p. 69) is displayed.
Change the medium setting if necessary.
Deleting all movies
and photos
(Formatting)
Formatting deletes all the movies and
photos to recover recordable free space.
Notes
Connect your camcorder to the wall outlet (wall
socket) using AC Adaptor supplied for this
operation (p. 19).
To avoid the loss of important images, you
should save them (p. 66, see Operating Guide
too) before formatting the recording media.
Protected movies and photos will also be
deleted.

Notes
While [Executing…] is displayed, do not close
the LCD screen, operate the buttons on the
camcorder, disconnect the AC Adaptor, or eject
“Memory Stick PRO Duo” media from your
camcorder. (The ACCESS/access lamp is lit or
flashing while formatting the medium.)
