To read a received message

Find and tap .

Tap the desired conversation.

If the message is not yet downloaded, tap it.
All received messages are saved by default to the device memory.
To reply to a message

Find and tap .

Tap the conversation containing the message.

Enter your reply and tap .
To forward a message

Find and tap .

Tap the conversation containing the desired message.

Touch and hold the desired message, then tap .

Select a recent contact from the list or tap NEW MESSAGE and enter the
recipient’s name or phone number, then select from the suggestions that
appear. If the recipient is not listed as a contact, enter the recipient's number
manually.

Edit the message if necessary, then tap .
To save a file contained in a received message

Find and tap .

If the message has not been downloaded yet, tap it.

Touch and hold the file that you want to save, then select the desired option.
Messaging settings
To change your message notification settings

Find and tap .

Tap , then tap Settings.

To set a notification sound, tap Notifications > Sound, then select an option
or tap and select a music file that is saved on your device.

To confirm, tap DONE.

To adjust additional notification settings, tap the sliders.
To enable or disable delivery reports for outgoing messages

Find and tap .

Tap , then tap Settings > Advanced.

Tap the Get SMS delivery reports slider to enable or disable the function.
After delivery reports are turned on, a check mark is displayed for messages that have been
successfully delivered.
Video chat
You can use the Google Duo™ video chat application on your device to chat with
friends who also use the application on Android™ and iOS devices.

The video call function only works on devices with a front camera.
