Notes
• You cannot listen to other sources while recording.
• When you press
z
START in step 5, the surround
effect may automatically change (see “Selecting the
surround effect” on page 61).
• If a disc is loaded when the functions other than DVD
are selected, recording automatically stops.
• If you connect or disconnect a microphone during
recording, or if you press KARAOKE MODE, the
sound cuts off for a moment.
• Do not eject the tape during recording, as this may
cause irreparable damage to the tape and the tape
deck.
Tips
• When you record on both sides, be sure to start from
the front side. If you start from the reverse side,
recording stops at the end of the reverse side.
• For recording from the tuner:
If noise is heard while recording from the tuner,
move the respective antenna to reduce the noise.
• If “TAPE” is selected in step 4, silence is recorded.
• You can “mix” sounds by playing one of the audio
sources in step 4 and singing or speaking into a
microphone. The mixed sound can be recorded on a
tape.
• When high level sound signals are input, the system
automatically adjusts the recording level to prevent
distortion of the recorded sound signal (Auto Level
Control function).
Generating a more dynamic

Press DSGX on the unit.
Each time you press the button, the display
changes as follows:

* The sound effect is automatically set to “FLAT”.
Use buttons on the unit for the operation.
Press EQ SELECT repeatedly to select
“PRESET EQ”, then touch or –
repeatedly to select the desired preset.
The preset name appears in the display. See the
chart “Sound effect options”.
To cancel the sound effect
Press EQ SELECT repeatedly to select
“PRESET EQ”, then touch or –
repeatedly until “FLAT” appears in the display.
