CONNECTING THE SON OF SUB
The power switch turns the Son of SUB subwoofer on and off.
Power switch
This switch is set in the 120 volt position from the factory. This is the
correct setting for use in the United States.
If you are using this subwoofer in a country where the voltage is
between 220 and 240 volts this switch should be changed to the 230
volt setting. If you are using the amplifier in its 230 volt setting, the
fuse located above the power connector must be changed.
IMPORTANT:
Included with the amplifier is a 1 amp fuse for this
purpose. Before making any changes to the voltage setting or the fuse,
make sure the amplifier is unplugged from its power source.

Voltage Switch
Speaker level input
There are two ways to get your audio signal into the Son of SUB
subwoofer; line level and speaker level. Under no circumstances should
you try to use both at the same time. Turn off all equipment before
connecting the Son of SUB subwoofer to your system.
Power connection
The Son of SUB is supplied with a 14 gauge EIA standard 120 volt
grounded power cable.
Auto on circuit
Power is always supplied to the Son of SUB subwoofer. The amplifier
inside the Son of SUB will remain on for approximately 15 minutes
after a signal is detected. After 15 minutes, the subwoofer will switch
to the standby mode until a signal is detected.
Audio input options
If you are using a receiver as the source in your system, this will be
the input you will probably use. When using this input, connect the
speaker output from your receiver to the speaker level input on the
Son of SUB subwoofer. Then connect the wires from your left and right
main speakers to the speaker level output of the Son of SUB
subwoofer.
The Son of SUB subwoofer features a line level input. Use this
connection if your receiver or preamp has a line level subwoofer
output. If your subwoofer output from your receiver or preamp is
mono, use the input marked right / mono on the Son of SUB
subwoofer.
