description
1)
Donor
Optic
Unit
(DOU)
The
DOU
performs
the
RF
to
optical
conversion
of
TX
signals
as
well
as
the
optical
to
RF
conversion
of
RX
signals.
Using
an
optical
splitter,
this
unit
divides
optical
signals
from
a
Laser
Diode
into
four
and
then
distributes
them
to
each
optical
port.
With
a
total
of
four
Photo
Diodes
in
RX,
the
DOU
performs
the
optical
to
RF
conversion
of
signals
received
from
each
optical
port.
In
addition,
the
unit
is
equipped
with
an
ATT
to
compensate
for
optical
loss
in
the
fiber
or
fiber
connectors.
Since
is
uses
a
WDM,
it
uses
only
one
strand
of
fiber
for
each
ROU
it
connects
to.
With
internal
FSK
modem,
it
will
allow
operation
from
a
remote
site.
