AES Prestorage and Breakdown Procedures
To pack and store the AES, one can reverse the steps described in the setup guide.
1. Power down the system.
2. Disconnect all components by removing and stowing the Inter-Connect Cables.
3. Thoroughly clean all surfaces and points of contact between connectors.
4. Close and lock case lids.
5. Stack the cases on a pallet in the same orientation as when they arrived. (The component layout
for storage and/or shipping can be seen in the section on AES Long-term Storage/Charge
Maintenance in this manual).
Breaking Down and Repacking the PAM
Instructions for packing the PAM equipment is printed on the PAM support rack and on the interior
of the case.
1. Carefully clean the surface of the solar panels with a clean microfiber cloth.
2. Disconnect the cables that link the panels in series.
3. Undo the latches that secure the solar panels to the support stand.
4. Remove the solar panels and fold them so that the junction box on the back of the panel remains
on the exterior of the folded panel.
5. Place the folded solar panels into the case with the connector wires all toward the left end of the
case, threading the panel leads around the designated organizer.
6. Roll the support panels. It is critical that the support panels be rolled straight. If they are not
rolled tight and straight, they will not easily fit into the storage and transport case.
