Operating Procedures
Read and un der stand all the pre vi ous chap ters and
the fol low ing chap ter on Emer gency Op er a tion be -
fore you be gin to operate an EPV.
This chap ter ex plains how to op er ate an EPV.
In struc tions for start ing an EPV with a die sel en -
gine are pro vided here.

Control Stations
An EPV can be started and op
er
ated from the
ground con trol station or from the plat form con trol
station.
There will clearly be some dif fer ences in op er at ing
pro ce dures with those units that have a PTO rather
than the Honda en gine.
The ground control station can override the
platform control station at any time. If a
person operating the machine from the
platform becomes incapacitated, a person
on the ground can always take over machine
control.
The EPV is not Electrically insulated.
Death or Serious Injury to operating
personnel, can occur if the machine should
come into contact with energized electrical
wires during operation.
DO NOT attempt to operate the EPV ground
controls if the platform, booms or any other
conducting part of an EPV is in contact with
energized electrical wires or if there is an
immediate danger of such contact.

Emergency Stopping
To stop an EPV, push ei
ther Emer
gency Stop
switch, at any time at ei ther the ground con trol
station or the plat form con trol station and the en tire
ma chine stops and noth ing moves.
