The sta bi liser con trols are mounted on the side of
the col umn.
Note - PTO Units:
On units fitted with a PTO the stabilisers are
mounted just below the truck deck on the chassis
of the truck (see Figure 3.5).

The sta bi lis ers are used to level the EPV (for com -
plete sta bi liser op er at ing pro ce dures see the Op er -
a tion chapter 9).
NOTE
The EPV must be on a firm surface capable of
withstanding all load forces imposed by the aerial
platform in all operation conditions before the
stabilisers are used.

Bubble Level
See the Gauges chap ter 5 for a dis cus sion of the
bub ble level.

Alarms
If the unit is fit ted with a level alarm this will sound if
the truck is more than 5
o
from level.
If the alarm is sound ing when set ting up, level the
truck us ing the sta bi lis ers.
If the alarm sounds af ter the booms are raised, the
unit will not op
er
ate. Use the emer
gency bleed
down func tion to lower the booms.
Note:
Not all truck units will be fitted with a level alarm.
It depends on the configuration of the truck and if
it is fitted with a torsion bar or not.

RCD/ELCB AC Outlet (option)

The RCD (Re sid ual Cur rent De vice) is lo cated at
the ground and will pro tect against short cir cuits to
earth. When there is a short cir cuit the RCD will
shut down the 230v AC power to the plat form out -
let. To re set the out let dis con nect the power tool
lead from the plat form box and re set the RCD at the
ground. If the prob lem per sists call a trained ser -
vice technician.

Flashing Light
The flash ing light alerts peo ple that the EPV is
pres
ent and that the EPV is mov
ing. The light
flashes at about one flash per sec ond any time the
EPV en gine is run ning. There is no ON/OFF switch
for the flash ing light, it can not be turned off while
the EPV is run ning.
