Fuel tank empty.

Fill fuel tank with fresh fuel.
Using Recoil Starter

Engine needs choking or priming.

Choke/Prime. Check Engine Manual for

Spark plug wire disconnected.

Place spark plug wire onto spark plug.

Spark plug faulty.

Replace with new spark plug.
Engine Stalls or Stops
After Running

Blade control is released or is not being held securely
against handle.

Blade control should be held securely against
handle at all times during operation of mower.

Fuel tank empty.

Fill with fuel to proper level.

Engine air pre-cleaner and or air cleaner dirty.

Clean free of all debris.

Spark plug defective or gap set improperly.

Service spark plug.

Water, debris or stale fuel in fuel system.

Drain and clean fuel system.
Engine Loses Power

Engine air pre-cleaner or air cleaner dirty

Clean or replace filters.

Excessive Vibration

Damaged, out of balance or bent mower blade.

Service mower blade.

Loose blade components.

Service and tighten loose parts.

Loose or missing air lift (if equipped).

Replace air lifts. Tighten to proper torque.
Cutting Grass
1.
Cutting height too low or high.

Adjust cutting height.

Forward ground speed too fast.

Walk at slower pace.

Cutting blade dull or damaged.

Poor Grass Discharge

Engine speed too slow.

Oil Leaking

Check and tighten drain plug.
