USB FEATURES
DATA LOGGING
The Apex is equipped with data logging
capability. The unit stores various
datapoints every second that the anode
pole switch is activated. On the main
screen, user can view the last three
minutes of %load, Peak voltage, current,
and power. The charts also reveal any
faults or alarms that occurred during this
timeframe (see Fig. 34).
The Apex can store up to 100,000
seconds of data. After the maximum
number of datapoints is reached, the unit
will then overwrite the earliest datapoints
to make room for the new data.
DOWNLOADING DATA
Unscrew the dust and water cap from
the USB port on the side of the backpack
and insert a USB flash drive (Figure 35).
Follow on-screen prompts to remove
USB flash drive. All stored data on the
backpack will load onto the USB flash
drive as comma separated files. These
files can be opened by any editing
software such as Microsoft Excel. Place
the cap back on the USB port after
transferring data is completed.
NOTE: Make sure the USB drive does not
contain any software update files. For
more information on how to update the
software please see Software Updates
below.

SOFTWARE UPDATES
The Apex electro-fisher’s software can be
updated in the field via a USB flash drive.
In order to update the software, follow the
steps below:
1. Ensure the USB flash drive is empty.
2. Transfer the software upgrade file to
the flash drive.
3. Power up the Apex unit and insert
flash drive into the unit’s USB port.
4. Follow the prompts. It may take a few
minutes to install the new software.
