Quick Blood Sampling Operation Guide

• 

Verify the reservoir stopcock “OFF” 
arrow points to the reservoir syringe 
and reservoir syringe plunger is on 
0ml position.

Prior to Sampling

• 

Turn the reservoir stopcock “OFF” 
arrow to point upstream to the fl uid 
bag. 

• 

Locate the in-line needle-free 
blood sampling site and cleanse the 
sampling site per hospital policy 
and procedure. 

• 

Slowly pull the reservoir syringe 
plunger down to the 5ml position to 
draw back fl uid, bringing undiluted 
blood to the sampling site. 

• 

Turn the reservoir stopcock “OFF” 
arrow to point downstream to the 
patient. 

Prepare the system to obtain 
blood samples:

• 

Connect a Luer lock syringe or 
sampling device to the in-line 
needle-free blood sampling site. 

• 

Gently withdraw the desired blood 
sample.  

• 

Disconnect the Luer lock syringe 
or sampling device from the in-line 
needle-free blood sampling site.

BEFORE YOU START

Remove the kit from the pack, confi rm 
all Luer connectors are tightened.
Attach and mount the LogiCal

®

 

5ml closed blood sampling system 
properly to the mounting system.* 
Before you start to obtain a blood 
sample, verify the system is primed 
per the IFU and the fl uid bag is 
pressurised to 300mmHg and placed 
at a higher level than the system.

* The mounting system consists of the LogiCal

®

 

transducer plates, clamp, brackets and cables.
