250419 LSR24 instructions v1
2. Walking
Unfold the walker and put the seat down (described above). Place the frame in front of you,
hold the handles and walk forward naturally. When the handle height is at the correct setting
your elbows should be slightly bent whilst you are walking.
To slow the walker down the lever brakes can be squeezed gently. Release them to return to
normal. When you want to stop apply the lever brakes and when you have stopped completely.
You can lock the brakes by pushing both the brake levers down until you feel them click & lock.
To release the brakes pull both the levers up so that you hear them unclick, they are now in the
middle “neutral” position and all the wheels run freely.
Note - The four-wheel lightweight walker should not be used on rough, uneven or soft ground.
3. Sitting/Standing
The seat may only be used when the walker is stationary. Both brakes
must
be put into the
locked position, check they are secure and that the wheels do not move.
When you want to stand up, first check that the brakes are in the locked position so that the
walker does not roll away from you as you push down on the handles to stand up.
4. Folding and Storage
To fold the walker, lift the seat and pull upwards on the handle that is located at the bottom of
the bag. As you pull the handle, the central bar lifts and closes the walker.
5. Cleaning
Remove bag, clean with a solution of mild detergent and household disinfectant in warm water
applied with a damp sponge. Dry thoroughly. Do not clean with harsh abrasives.
6. Maintenance
Although the Lightweight Walker should give many years of trouble free service, we recommend
that it should be checked monthly to ensure that all components are secure and function
correctly.
Items to check include brakes, wheels/tyres, handgrips, seat hinge, and folding mechanism.
The brakes may require minor adjustment to ensure they lock securely. They can be adjusted
using the threaded adjusters at the top or bottom of the brake cables to provide a gap between
the tyre and brake of approximately 3mm.
Should you require assistance, a mobility shop or bicycle shop would be able to help.
