Device Name
The name of the wireless access point. (Default: SMC2671W)
Basic Rates
The highest rate specified is the rate the Wireless Barricade
will use when transmitting broadcast/multicast and
management frames. Available options are: 1, 2, 5.5, and
11 Mbps. (Default: 2 Mbps.)
Data Rates
Set the data rate transmitted from the SMC2671W. The lower
the data rate, the longer the transmission distance. Available
options are: 1, 2, 5.5, and 11 Mbps. (Default: 11)
Preamble Type The access points and client card drivers have a radio setting
for RF Preamble. If you are not sure whether all the clients and
access point radios in your wireless network support the Short
RF preamble, then leave this setting to the default (Long).
Beacon Interval The beacon signals allow the wireless devices to maintain
contact with each other. They may also carry
power-management information. (Default: 100)
RTS Threshold
You may configure the access point to initiate an RTS frame.
If the packet size is smaller than the preset RTS threshold size,
the RTS/CTS mechanism will NOT be enabled. (Default: 2,347
which means Disabled)
Frag. Threshold The Frag. Threshold can be set between 256 and 2,346. If the
packet size is smaller than the preset Fragment size, the
packet will not be segmented. (Default: 2,346 which means
Disabled)
Operation Mode
Mode
This may be set to Access Point, Range Extender, or Ethernet
Adapter. (Default: Access Point)
BSSID
Basic Service Set ID. The MAC address of the access point to
which the adapter is connected in an infrastructure network. In
an ad hoc network, the BSS ID is a random number generated
by the first adapter that communicates with other clients in the
network. The BSS ID of the other clients will then be set to the
same value.
