1.3 VME Processor/PMCspan System
Figure 1-3 shows a block diagram of a PMCspan system: a VME processor module, a
PMCspan16E-002 primary PMC carrier module, and a PMCspan16E-010 secondary PMC
carrier module. The primary PMCspan interfaces to the VME processor module via the PCI
expansion connector. The expansion connector on the secondary bus supports the
secondary PMCspan. The PCI-to-PCI bridge chip on the PMCspan provides the interface
between the primary PCI bus and the secondary PCI bus.
The next figure shows a block diagram of the PMCspan’s architecture.
