Turn off all Sunny Island AC input power sources.
•
Observe sufficient cable cross section.
•
Observe the correct polarity of the cables.
•
Insert NH fuses in the bracket of the BatFuse only after completion of the installation
task on the system.

Observe the instructions in the section Switching On and Off in the technical instructions
of the Sunny Island.
Information
The battery cable should be as short as possible. Long cables and insufficient cable
diameters reduce the system efficiency as well as the tolerable overload. Do not lay the
battery cables under plaster or in armored plastic pipes. Large currents flow through the
battery cables, so the cables can get very warm.
Information
Use the preassembled cables from
SMA Solar Technology AG
for the connection of
the charge controllers. They are available in lengths of 3 m, 6 m or 9 m with M8 pipe
cable lugs.
