SG-7100 - Hardware Guide
T300, Version 01 26 © SkyWave Proprietary
The SG-7100 default configuration is:
3 outputs (output8, output13, and output14)
4 digital inputs (input1, input2, input3 and input5)
2 analog inputs (input6 and input7)
1-Wire (requires output12)
3-wire RS-232 (requires input4 and output9 - Table 18)
CAN bus (requires output10 and output11)
In total there are seven inputs:
Input6 and input7 are fixed as analog inputs (0-10 V) and cannot be reconfigured
as digital inputs
Input1 to input5 are digital inputs which can also be configured in the software as
analog inputs (0-3 V)

RS-485 Jumper Configuration
The second UART on the Telematics card (UART4) can optionally be configured as a 2-
wire RS-485 port. Below are the required jumper settings to enable the RS-485 port.
The only difference between the default jumpers setting (Table 18) and the RS-485
jumpers setting (Table 19) is that jumper J5 (default) moves to J6 (RS-485).

2.14 Accelerometer Sensors
The terminal has a 3D accelerometer to detect motion in any axis. The accelerometer is
important for low power terminals when it is critical to save power when stationary,
while quickly detecting when motion has started. In powered terminals where low power
is not critical, GPS can be polled to detect motion.
In low power applications frequent GPS fixes can dominate the power budget. To reduce
the power budget effects of GPS fixes, an accelerometer can be used to trigger a GPS fix
to detect if motion has occurred.
