4.5.2.1 When to Power Off the Terminal
In order to save battery life, remove the power source, including any batteries, from the
terminal:
When the terminal is out of satellite coverage for an extended period of time
When the terminal is removed from an asset for storage
Prior to shipping
4.5.2.2 How to Power On the Terminal
If the terminal has been powered off it can be powered on in a number of ways:
By inserting batteries (rechargeable or non-rechargeable)
By applying external power
When the power off timer has expired
By using the magnet fob and following the instructions below

Hold the magnet fob centered on the magnet sensor (Figure 32 and Figure 34) for 3
seconds and then remove to power on the terminal. Once the terminal has power, the
LED emits a few short flashes. Refer to [T204] for LED operation information and
flash rates.
Note:
It is important that you hold the magnet fob on the target for 3 seconds and
then remove it, in order to power on the terminal. The terminal remains off if
the magnet fob is in place for more than 10 seconds.

4.6 Mount the Terminal
The IDP 800 series terminals can be installed with or without mounting brackets
(APPENDIX A). Users can also build their own custom bracket (Section 4.6.2).

Painting terminals or antennas
may interfere with their
performance.
