Obtaining version information when the Appliance Administration
is not available
If you need to know the version of the Appliance (also named the image version)
and other information about the Apliance at a time when the Appliance
Administration is not available, you can find this information by running the
get_appliance_details
script from the CLI.
The following is a sample output of this script:
APPLIANCE_VERSION: 8.5.103-7.1.11
CORES: 2
MODE: SERVER
MODEL:
RAM: 32014 MB
SERIAL_NUMBER:
SKYBOXVIEW: 8.0.513
Hardware issues
Whenever there is a hardware issue on the Appliance (usually indicated by the
system status LED turning amber or blinking), do the following:

Run
getlogs
as the root user.
The diagnostic log file,
diagnostic_<timestamp>.log
, is located in
<Skybox_Home>/server/log

Open a support case and attach the (most recent) diagnostic file.
