4.1.4 PoE switch
PoE switch is a box that provides both data transmission and power supply to the surveillance cameras and
data transmission to the PC.
• PoE switch (is not supplied by SKOV).
• SKOV recommends a PoE switch so that each surveillance camera only needs to be connected to one ca-
ble, namely a LAN cable.
• The 12 V power supply in the cardboard box for the surveillance camera is not to be used with the PoE
switch.
• Place the PoE switch in a protected environment where the PC is also located.
Surveillance camera requires the following PoE switch types to get enough power:
(130491) Small camera 9.2 W, requires minimum:
• IEEE802.3af (PoE) class 3 12.95 W
• IEEE802.3at (PoE+) class 3 12.95 W
• IEEE802.3bt (4PPoE) class 3 12.95 W
(130492) Large camera 18 W, requires minimum:
• IEEE802.3at (PoE+) class 4 25.5 W
• IEEE802.3bt (4PPoE) class 4 25.5 W
