PRE-START CHECK
Check Points
• Activate the throttle several times to check that it operates easily
and smoothly. It must return to idle position when released.
• Activate the brake lever and make sure the brake fully applies be-
fore the brake lever touches the handlebar grip. It must fully return
when released. See section
Brake Adjustment
on page 56 in this
guide.
• Verify skis and steering operate freely.
• Verify track and idler wheels are unfrozen and free to turn.
• Check fuel and engine oil level
(to be done by an adult only)

• Ensure fuel shut-off valve is in fully open position. Fuel shut-off
valve is located on carburetor in engine compartment.
• Clean and check operation of the headlight and taillight.

Only start the snowmobile once all components are checked
and functioning properly.
