Basics
5.1.1
Intervals
To maintain the value and safe functioning of your simulation unit, it is
necessary to have it cared for, cleaned and disinfected by the user
regularly. This will minimize the risk of contamination for the user and
ensure proper functioning.
The national requirements and recommendations for hygiene and
disinfection must be observed, e.g., Robert Koch Institute (RKI),
American Dental Association (ADA), Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC), etc.
Maintenance, cleaning, and disinfecting intervals
Clean and disinfect surfaces
Clean/disinfect surfaces
● Disinfect the user interface
● Lubricate, disinfect/sterilize instruments [ → 169]
● Disinfect handles
● Care for and clean the operating light (see separate operating
instructions for the operating light)
Cleaning the suction hoses
Sterilize/disinfect the suction handpieces
Purge the water lines (purge function)
Daily
Automatically purge water lines (autopurge function)
Rinse water lines
Clean the suction system using adapters on the supply module (if the
suction hose cleaning option or chemical suction hose cleaning is not
available)
Clean the suction hoses
Disinfect dentist and assistant element
Sterilize silicone mats and handle covers

Maintenance, cleaning, and disinfecting intervals
The time intervals specified for maintenance, cleaning, and disinfection/
sterilization are reference values.
Please adapt the time intervals to suit your personal method of working
and your national requirements.
