Note:
Alerts should not disappear automatically in case alert condition is not applicable.
Caution alerts no need to be acknowledged.
If alert symbol is flashing, then alert is not acknowledged.
There are two warnings that are escalated to alarms in case of being unacknowledged:
•
Course change alert. CC acknowledge interval can be changed by user.
•
Anchor watching. The interval for acknowledge is 1 minute and cannot be changed.
ECDIS in network
When several ECDIS workstations are connected in a network, acknowledgement of alarm is
synchronized, i.e. when an alert is acknowledged on one PC this alert is acknowledged on all
PCs with the exception of user defined alerts which are local on the PC.
List of alerts
Alerts have two categories:
•
A
: The information is required for the decision support. The A category alerts are
generated by workstation. All alerts of the A category require to be acknowledged. Can be
acknowledged on the ECDIS PC only.
•
B
: no additional information is required for the decision support. The B category alerts are
generated by navigational system. Can be acknowledged on the BAMS.
