
5.4 USB Micro-B Connector
The BRD4321A radio board is equipped with a USB Micro-B connector that is connected directly to the WGM160P .
Board USB Connector on page 19
shows how the USB lines are connected to the WGM160P.
This USB connector may also be used to power the radio board. This is allows the radio board to be powered externally while the Wire-
less STK Mainboard can be switched completely off.
The radio board contains a voltage regulator and a transisor switch that automatically connects the regulated supply to the module pow-
er supply. The power select slide switch on the Wireless STK Mainboard should be set to

to avoid conflict with the Main-
board power supply when using the USB connector.

5.5 MicroSD Card Slot
BRD4321A contains a microSD card slot which is connected to the WGM160P Wi-Fi Module. It enables testing of SW applications uti-
lizing a microSD or microSDHC card.

Note:
The microSD card slot is located on the bottom side of the BRD4321A Radio Board. To install a microSD or microSDHC card,
remove the radio board from the mainboard and push the microSD or microSDHC card into the card slot with the metal contacts of the
memory card facing towards the PCB. Attach the radio board back into the Wireless STK Mainboard.
