Replacing a Power Supply
The server chassis includes a redundant, hot-pluggable 2000W power supply, consisting of two
power modules. They have an auto-switching capability, which enables them to automatically
sense and operate at a 100V–240V input voltage.
If either of the two power supply modules fail, the other module will take the full load and allow
the system to continue operation without interruption. The power fail LED will illuminate and
remain on until the failed unit has been replaced.
Use the following steps to replace a power supply.
Caution:
Unplug the AC power cord from the failed power supply module to reduce the risk
of injury from electric shock.
1.
Pull out the power supply handle and press the retaining clip on the right side of the
power supply, as illustrated in
2.
While pressing the retaining clip, pull the power supply out. See
3.
Push the new power supply module into the power bay until you hear a click.
4.
Plug the AC power cord back into the module.
