Electric Assist Bicycle
Electric assist bicycle means any two- or three-wheeled bicycle
that is:
– equipped with an electric assist motor that is no larger than
500 watts;
– designed to be propelled with the
combination
of muscular
power and power assist from the electric motor; and
– cannot be operated at a speed of greater than 32 km/hr
(20 m/hr) on any level service.

Helmets:
Operator requires a bicycle or
motorcycle helmet.
Operation rules:
Must be driven in accordance with
the rules of the road under

Traffic Safety Act

bylaw.
Power Cycle
Power cycle is a two- or three-wheeled bicycle that is:
– designed to be propelled primarily with the power from an
electric motor but does have functioning pedals;
– has an electric motor of no more than 500 watts;
– cannot be operated at a speed of greater than 32 km/hr
(20 m/hr) on any level service; and
– meets the definition of a “power-assisted bicycle” in the
Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations.

Yes; a valid Class 7 driver’s licence
or higher
